DERMAPLANING ─ THE ART OF SHAVING YOUR FACE

The skincare technique that changes everything
Dermaplaning is more than just a passing trend. It's a true beauty ritual that leaves skin incredibly soft and radiant. If you want to take your skincare routine to the next level, here's everything you need to know about this increasingly popular technique.
WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?
Imagine ultra-effective exfoliation, but without abrasive products or intimidating machines. Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz (those tiny hairs that reflect light). It's painless, precise, and impressive from the very first time.
WHY ADOPT IT?
- Instantly luminous complexion ─ By eliminating impurities and dead cells, the skin captures light better.
- Flawless makeup ─ Without hairs or irregularities, the foundation glides on and the “ airbrush ” effect is real.
- Better absorption of skincare products ─ Your serums and creams penetrate more easily and work in depth.
IS THIS FOR EVERYONE?
Yes, or almost. Whether your skin is dry, normal, or oily, dermaplaning will benefit it. However, if you have active acne or rosacea, it's best to consult a professional before starting.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW THE FIRST TIME
- You can do it at home : no need to press hard, and remember to disinfect the blade before and after each use.
- No darker regrowth : the hairs remain fine and light (myth shattered ✦).
- Essential post-session care : moisturize well and apply SPF, as your skin will be more sensitive.
- Trick : Applying a suitable cream is key (like men when they shave).
- Where to find the blades : personally, I get mine from Amazon

STEP BY STEP
Prepare the skin ─ Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser.
Disinfect the blade ─ Use alcohol to sterilize.
Apply a cream or oil before shaving ─ To avoid any irritation.
Hold the blade at 45° ─ Skin taut, light movements in the direction of the hair, area by area, avoiding the eyes and nostrils.
Rinse with cold water ─ To remove dead skin cells.
Moisturize generously ─ And apply SPF if you do it in the morning.
Follow-up ─ No exfoliating or irritating products for 24 hours.
ADOPT A CONSISTENT ROUTINE
For lasting results, dermaplaning should be done every 4 to 6 weeks. Once you've experienced the feeling of ultra-soft, glowing skin, it's hard to live without it.
